Tired All The Time? Can’t Lose Weight? How Background Noise Impacts Your Health

This weekend I took my daughter out shopping for a bridesmaids dress to wear to her dear friend’s wedding.   And even though it was so wonderful to spend that special time with her, I left the crowded store feeling completely exhausted, and so did she. As we were driving home I realized that I felt exhausted specifically by being around the constant, unending noise that was in the store… …background music overlapping with customer conversations overlapping with advice from store personnel overlapping with the intercom system, all while I was trying to focus on communicating with my own child. …

Is It Better To Diet Or To Fast Intermittently?

Two years ago I told you about a medical study that showed fasting for 13 hours (or more) overnight decreased breast cancer recurrence by more than one-third, which was awesome news. In that study, researchers found that not only did cancer recurrence rates drop, but also the longer the participants fasted at night, the lower their HbA1C levels fell as well.     This begs the question — if fasting at night helps to lower HgA1C levels, could intermittent fasting help treat patients with Type 2 Diabetes?   To answer this question, researchers conducted a new study specifically …

Yet Another Study Showing That Overweight Is Healthier Than Underweight

A new study, this time looking at breast cancer, found the same thing that several previous studies have revealed: it’s better to be overweight than underweight.   The latest study, published in JAMA Oncology on June 21, 2018, found that a higher BMI was associated with lowered breast cancer rates. Especially if the BMI was higher in early adulthood, there was a reduced risk of premenopausal breast cancer.   The Study:   Researchers collected data from over 750,000 premenopausal women throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Looking at the BMI of women ages 18 to 54 years old and …

Stunning Results: Complete Resolution Of Irritable Bowel By Eating This

Eating this one thing: homemade yogurt can result in complete resolution of irritable bowel syndrome symptoms.   This is type of overwhelmingly complete response to a treatment is unheard of, and quite honestly, I’m surprised it’s something that the medical community will publish… … since there is absolutely no Rx medication or over-the-counter pharmacy remedy that comes anywhere close to providing the 100% complete remission results seen with homemade yogurt. Yet Another Study Gives Survival Advantage To Overweight, Not Underweight

Well I thought this would be the perfect medical article to blog about this week, as many of us tuck into eating huge delicious Thanksgiving holiday meals!   If you are going to eat, don’t make those calories laden with guilt and remorse and negative thinking. As you can read in one of my previous blog posts, fat shaming physically harms your health. Don’t allow shame over food choices or weight to ruin your well being.   Release the negative thinking and just enjoy what you eat.   To help with that, here is a recently published medical study …

Fat Shaming Causes Disease… But It Doesn’t Have To

Fat shaming (not obesity itself!) directly increases a person’s risk for metabolic syndrome and subsequent health issues, a new study finds.   And why is there fat shaming in the first place? As I will go over below, there is an incredible wealth of medical research showing that having a higher BMI is actually advantageous to longevity, so there really is no need for our society to have an obesity bias to start with! Certainly dropping this attitude and reducing the internalized stress associated with weight will decrease diabetes risk, heart disease risk and the rate of metabolic disease in …
