Meet Gina Rafkind, CPC.

Gina is the Holistic Anxiety Coach + Chief Anxiety Buster at VedaSun.

She helps women bust through anxiety so they can get moving on their creative dreams.

I have a particular affection for Gina and asked her to share her website and thoughts on my blog today because I suffered incredibly from anxiety as a child.

It was so bad that sometimes I would literally pace my bedroom in a circle all night long until woke up in the morning passed out on the floor.

It was so bad that I felt embarrassed about it.

It was so bad that it is one of the reasons I wrote my first children’s book, as I explain in more detail here.

It is so refreshing to find some resources that help support and alleviate anxiety in a positive way. Check out Gina over on VedaSun.com if you’d like to find some great printable resources and fabulous blog posts related to busting anxiety, and more!

So without further ado, here is Gina to share her story on busting out of suffering and into freedom:

“Your thoughts are just another form of energy.

They twist and swirl around in your head every day. Some are negative, positive, uplifting, nice, mean, confusing, happy, sad or downright anxiety inducing.

Why do thoughts have such a powerful and clinging grasp over us?

I believe the main reason is that we are not aware of the thoughts we think on a daily basis. Eckhart Tolle, author of The Power Of Now, says that we think over 60,000 thoughts a day and they are mostly negative ones that we repeat over and over and over again.

When I first read this, it blew my mind. It became so clear to me, after I tested his theory, as to how my thoughts were keeping me imprisoned in a life of anxiety.

Can you uncover a thought that you think every day?
Do any of these thoughts below sound familiar?

  • I can’t do that — who do I think I am?
  • I’m never good enough!
  • I stink at this.
  • I’m not even going to try — I give up.
  • Why can’t I just do it — everyone else can do it?
  • I’m so stupid!

Can you see how these types of thoughts can keep someone stuck as well as keep them from moving forward on their passion, hobby or creative business?

Can you feel how by doing this, by squashing your inner essence from shining through and expressing itself, how that creates anxiety?

I can tell you from experience that the above scenario can definitely cause anxiety to surface.

I always thought of others first and put myself last for a very long time. I was even in a career at the time that exasperated this ‘pleasing others’ syndrome. And I started to get really down and had this unfulfilled feeling that lived in my gut.

But I didn’t do anything about it, and that’s when anxiety exploded into my life when I had what I call, a tsunami of a panic attack, back in 1994.

My life changed dramatically after that panic attack.

I was afraid of being along, in fear of experiencing another panic attack. I developed agoraphobia, which is the fear of leaving your home and being in crowded places.

And the fact that my life felt so turbulent at that time had me experience even more anxiety. I was creating more anxiety due to the fact that I did not want what was happening to me.

I was resisting what was happening, and that is another common cause of anxiety — to resist ‘What Is’.

So after I had blood work done and other medical tests to rule out other conditions, it was clear from all the negative test results, that it was indeed anxiety.

The first thing I did was research anxiety and I bought a book about it called, Master Your Panic by Denise F. Beckfield.

As I read about anxiety, it became clearer to me why I was experiencing anxiety and what triggers it. These discoveries made me feel much more calm and also hopeful that I could heal it.

I learned what helped relieve anxiety so I starting meditating, practicing yoga, eating healthier, reading inspirational books, using aromatherapy, and eventually I started receiving support from a Spiritual Psychotherapist/Healer.

Now, after a 15 plus year journey, I have healed anxiety and it is my passion to help others do the same.

And I want to touch upon why I say ‘heal’ and not ‘cure’ anxiety.

You really don’t want to cure anxiety – you want to heal it and learn to work with it.

Anxiety is actually a very important messenger to your body and to experience anxiety is normal.

However, when your fight and flight system is in high gear the majority of the time and you experience a chronic and heightened state of anxiety on a daily basis, is when it becomes debilitating. And experiencing that type of pain is not fun – believe me I know.

But I also want you to know that you can heal anxiety — I did and so can you!

I went on to become a Certified Professional Coach and I specialize in holistic anxiety healing.

So now I live my passion by helping other women heal anxiety through private sessions, group programs and products I create.

I feel truly blessed and grateful to be able to do this work, and I see the anxiety I had as a gift. For if it were not for the anxiety I experienced, I would not be the person I am today, and I would not be connecting with you here now through this article and the Intuition Physician website.

I feel more peace and love now than I ever have in my life and know that all I have right now, in this moment, is all I ever need.

I became aware of and choose, every day, to question my thoughts, beliefs and opinions. I invite you to do the same.

Inhale ~ enjoy ~ exhale.”
