If you follow my blog, you already know I am a huge fan of walking to reduce your risk of diabetes as well as for cancer recovery.

Moving my body more is certainly an ongoing goal for me in my own life… something I really want to do but never seem to find the time to prioritize.

I don’t have the time (or desire) to fit in trips to the gym and I’ve never found an exercise DVD that I’ve felt like doing more than once.

Enter… The Inspire Workouts.

This is an innovative program that combines positive affirmations with movements and music to get your body moving in a very non-intimidating way.

In fact, you can’t do it wrong because there is nothing to compare or measure yourself against… and here’s why:

This is an audio program that invites you to go inward, go deep, and do the movements that you are inspired to do… not the movements you are mimicking someone else do.

My daughter and I did a workout together, listening to the instructions and following along, and had a fabulous time laughing and enjoying the flow.

Because the program is all audio, you can lose yourself in your own movement.

I thought it was such an innovative idea, such a fresh way of getting into a new pattern of thinking and moving, that I invited Jenni on the blog today.

I bet that — like me — there are many of you out there who would like to welcome in 2014 with more positive movement and more energy.

If so, I wanted to offer the Inspire Workouts to you.

Jenni, was there one defining moment when you *knew* you had to create this program?

I love being outdoors, and for a long time I’ve noticed the way running, biking, and hiking are good for my body and my soul.

But, it was when I did my thesis research on exercise motivation in people with chronic pain that I knew there was more. The people I interviewed for my study talked about exercising and moving, but in a much larger sense of the word.

They shared that being FLEXIBLE was important because every day is different and a willingness to change is key.

They told me that social support gave them STRENGTH, and the POWER of the mind is the most important factor of all.

Through their experiences and stories, I knew I was onto something I could use to help people with motivation, working out, and living a happier life.

What was your biggest obstacle in creating this program?

In the middle of creating the workouts, I had just moved across the country, officially started my business online, my husband and I were living with family, and had been through several frustrating and disappointing home buying deals. We were getting discouraged with long commutes, living out of our suitcases, and attempting to feel grounded in spite of it all.

I remember running one day and feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

I had deadlines I wanted to meet for the Inspire Workouts, but I was wondering how I could create and record the workouts from such an “un-inspired” state.

As I felt myself breathing in and out, a piece of wisdom poured over me: there is nothing as easy as being inspired.

My immediate reaction: “Easy? Really?” Then I remembered what the word INSPIRE means — to breathe in spirit; to be filled up with the ability to do something.

Being alive and breathing is a gift, and allowing ourselves to breathe and be filled up with something more powerful than we can imagine is too.

Breathe in it, ask for it, move in it.

I love that you work with the breath as a tool to increase motivation and effect change.

How do you believe that moving your body can change your life?

I believe in helping people live healthier, and one of the biggest barriers I notice as a coach and fitness trainer is motivation.

To do it, or not to do it?

To move, or not to move?

Movement is more than simply doing push-ups or running up a mountain. Movement is about taking action.

It’s about using the energy high you have on a run to inspire your life.

It’s about being flexible on and off the yoga mat, because your willingness to change is the first step to doing anything.

Movement is an action that comes from the heart.

It’s a decision, a choice, and the energy that propels you forward when you’re running, and when you trade your running shoes for high heels.

What was the best thing that has happened to you as a result of focusing on spirit WHILE exercising — mixing the two together?

The most powerful and inspiring times of my life have happened on the move – running, hiking, on a bike, or in downward facing dog.

I guess it’s why I could resonate with the message I learned from my research study participants, and the reason the larger definition of “movement” came to me in the first place.

The best part of seeing the mind, body, spirit connection with exercise has been creating it into a program that has nourished my soul (and workout) in the process, and that I can share with the world.

What is your core message?

I believe in helping people connect with their bodies to be INSPIRED to live more healthy, abundant, and adventurous lives.
