Sneak Peek into my second children’s book…

Whew! I just finished it. After spending months and months dreaming, writing, designing, sketching and painting it, my second children’s book is now off to be published! And not a nick of time too soon, as my house has literally fallen apart around me (we are talking dust bunnies that have built their own little hutches in every corner of my house) and orders in my shop have back up slightly (sorry peeps! Working on them right now!!!) my house feels strangely sad with all of this clutter cleared away:             But the …

Eco-friendly Christmas Tree Craft Tutorial, or… how to distract your kids while you get some stuff done around the house this holiday season

I can barely call this a tutorial because it is just gluing paper on a cone shape, but that is the genius of this sweet little craft. I first showed this post last Christmas, and as we pulled these trees out from storage this year my daughter begged to make more.  So see?  Even though it is soooo easy and barely requires five minutes of adult set up/supervision, it is something your kids will love, enjoy, and be proud of years later. If you need to get some stuff done around the house and need an easy distraction for the …

Thoughts On Health… Celebrate Becoming A Woman

The most special girl in the world, the most special girl in *my* world anyway… is now a young woman. She takes my breath away with how effortlessly she welcomed womanhood and menstruation into her life… she is healthy and radiant and I am the most lucky mama in the entire UNIVERSE to travel this road with her… watching her fly. We were heading out the door to spend a warm November day on the beach when she found out. Welcoming her transition with the calmly lapping waves and under the warm blessed sun just felt so right. Oh I …

Check out my Saving Seeds tutorial for more info   …

Laughing At Myself

My kids recently asked me what was the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me. Well, lots of them I had to censor for my kids… and don’t particularly want to share on the internet, either. But once I started really digging into the G rated stuff that I could share, I started laughing so hard with them, and it felt soooo good. Hearing them laugh along too just had me breathless with joy. I told them about the time when I was twelve and I was on a family trip with my parents and brothers. We …

Gazing balls for your gorgeous fall yard… craft tutorial

“Gazing Balls” just doesn’t sound right, does it? I mean, I have a spam filter and all, but dang. Gazing balls? I almost wrote “Glitter Balls” but oh my goodness that’s worse. So “Gazing Balls” it is. Overlook the name. Ahem. Because this craft is a really fun and simple one to do outside with your children this fall. Everyone loves the cooler weather and the bright, vibrant colors that fall brings, right? Why not capitalize on all this fall freshness and add some sparkle to your fading garden beds, getting them beautiful for the darker, colder winter months ahead. …
